University Governance Measures

The Senate and Administrative Boards of Izmir Institute of Technology include elected representatives of each faculty.

Izmir Institute of Technology has written policies and procedures. These are executed through the “IZTECH Civic Engagement Coordination Unit” to identify local stakeholders external to the university, e.g., Koruncuk Foundation, Urla Education Foundation, etc., and engage with them.

The local stakeholders, including the Governor of Izmir, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan City, the President of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, the President of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association, participate in the university’s strategic planning and decision making processes.

Working with Government

Izmir Institute of Technology participates in the administrative and advisory committees of the local, regional and national governments. It provides specific expert advice through policy guidance and the provision of evidence.

Sustainable Ecocampus Processes Meeting was held between IZTECH and Eskişehir Technical University.

The ninth R&D and Design Centers and Technology Development Zones Summit was hosted by IZTECH with the attendance of Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.

The IZTECH Advisory Board meeting, which brought together the senior management of the Izmir Institute of Technology and public-private sector representatives, was held under the chairmanship of Izmir Governor, Mr. Yavuz Selim Köşger, with the participation of the Advisory Board members.

Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran attended the EXPO TECH R&D P&D Innovation Industry and Technology Fair held in Izmir.

The 14th International Forum of the European Youth Parliament Türkiye was hosted by IZTECH. The forum attended by delegates from different universities was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. It started with the opening speech of Yusuf Baran.
