The CRM-Geothermal (EU Horizon 2021) project team organized a field trip to Turkey from March 28 to April 1. As part of the field trip, partners from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the University of Iceland and the University of Miskolc collected samples of liquids, gases, rocks and crust.
The field trip was made by Izmir Institute of Technology and within the scope of the field work
Seferihisar Geothermal Power Plant
Tuzla geothermal power plant
Samples were collected from the Dikili geothermal field used for greenhouse farming.
In addition to the field trip, chemical engineers from GFZ and Izmir Institute of Technology met at Izmir Institute of Technology laboratories to exchange ideas on experiments on element extraction technologies and discuss the progress made.
