Teknopark İzmir was selected for the “ACCELERO Program” as one of the 10 organizations in Europe.

Teknopark İzmir was selected among 110 business support organizations that applied within the scope of the AcceleratingLocalInnovationEcosystemsin Europe (ACCELERO) Project, which was opened for business support organizations in Europe, and became one of the first 10 organizations in Europe.

ACCELERO aims to strengthen the support structure of the local ecosystem in order to make the developing innovation ecosystems in Europe more attractive to SMEs and will create opportunities for Teknopark İzmir to participate in international funds, especially Horizon Europe.

The work within the scope of ACCELERO, which will continue for one year until March 2024, will also make significant contributions to the sustainability of the Accelerate İzmir Program carried out within the scope of the İzmir Network and Innovation Center (NIC) Project, supported by the European Union and carried out by Teknopark İzmir.

Emphasizing the importance of the contributions of the ACCELERO Program to Teknopark İzmir and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, İzmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) Rector and Teknopark İzmir Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran said, “As two parts of a whole, the work we have done in the axis of education, science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship at IZTECH and Teknopark İzmir is one of the most important success stories of our country in this context. With the projects we carry out in this context, we make significant contributions to the development of our country in every sense, especially the economy. Teknopark İzmir, one of the strongest Teknoparks of our country, was selected among 110 business support organizations within the scope of the call opened for business support organizations in Europe within the scope of the AcceleratingLocalInnovationEcosystems in Europe (ACCELERO) Project and became one of the top 10 organizations in Europe. We are rightfully proud of adding new ones to the successes we achieve every day within Teknopark İzmir. We will continue to provide all kinds of support to entrepreneurs operating in our country, especially in İzmir. “I hope this success will be beneficial to our country and Izmir, and I would like to thank all my teammates who contributed,” he said.

ACCELERO Project Representative and İzmir NIC Project Senior Manager, Teknopark İzmir General Manager Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu stated the pride and importance of being among the top 10 organizations in Europe within the scope of the project for Teknopark İzmir and said: “We care about being a part of important programs in order to provide the highest contribution to İzmir’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and our country’s work in this field. The ACCELERO Program will contribute greatly to all our entrepreneurship and acceleration programs, including İzmir NIC, which includes Accelerate İzmir, an international acceleration program that we are currently continuing, to produce more effective and higher level outputs; and also to Teknopark İzmir becoming a pioneer and leader in its field.
