A joint online workshop organized by Kyushu University’s Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences (IGSES) J-Mena Team (Japan), and the Department of Environmental Engineering was held on March 27, 2025. This international event brought together distinguished researchers from Japan and Türkiye to discuss wastewater treatment and soil remediation technologies, bioenergy recovery, and nanomaterials. The workshop also aimed to foster international collaboration with the support of the IZTECH Research Directorate and IZTECH International Office.

From the Department of Environmental Engineering at IZTECH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alper Bayrakdar and Dr. Hale Demirtepe actively participated in the workshop, contributing to the scientific dialogue and knowledge exchange.

This workshop was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), specifically Goals 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).”
