IZTECH has been taking multiple measures to reduce overall energy consumption. For instance, IZTECH has been an active partner of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technical Assistance Project (YEVDES) which aims to heat the university campus using geothermal resources and thus reduce the need for fossil fuels on campus. In addition, IZTECH is a beneficiary in The Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings (KABEV) project that aims to increase energy savings and reduce greenhouse gasses. In this project, 500-700 public buildings are renovated in an energy efficient way and 8 of IZTECH buildings have been supported as part of this part project.
