The first of our Career Workshops, organized in cooperation with Izmir Institute of Technology Career Development Application and Research Center, Career Office and Alumni Office, was held with the theme “Make a Difference in Your Career”.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. In the Workshop, which started with the opening speech of Yusuf Baran, Rector Baran emphasized that the investment of individuals focusing on their career journeys in self-improvement has now become much more valuable, and that career is actually life itself, and in this context, he talked about the opportunities offered to our students as IZTECH. Rector Baran emphasized that institutional work will increase gradually to provide opportunities for our students to discover themselves, and thanked the speakers who were guests of the Workshop for shedding light on our students, who are our common denominator.
The first session of the workshop started with the speech titled “Career in Civil Society and Digital Nomadism” with the President of Habitat Association, Vice Chairman of Gen Turkey Board of Directors and also Deputy Chairman of TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Board, Mr. Sezai Hazir.
Our second session guest, with his presentation titled “What Kind of Graduate Does the Industry Expect and 2022 Competencies”, was Serdar Kalaycıoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Human Management Association PERYÖN Aegean Branch. Peryön Aegean Branch Vice President Serap Manisalı and Kastaş Human Resources Senior Specialist Işıl Uslu, whom we hosted in the same session, gave practical information to our young people with their speeches titled “Interview Techniques and CV Preparation”.
In our third session; We hosted Evrim İçer, who works as ThisAbility country manager and recruitment specialist within Gi GROUP, an international human resources and consultancy holding company operating in 59 countries. Our guest, who is also a professional coach with an ICF title, conveyed his achievements in the coaching training and recruitment process to our audience under the title of “Breaking the Glass Ceiling”, which is expressed as learned helplessness.
The guest of our last session is; The direction was Barış Özpazarcık, President of the Management Competence Institute. Our workshop ended with a question-answer session after our guest shared his experiences and impressions on “Coach Yourself in Your Career Journey”.
