IZTECH Receives Certificate of Excellence in Human Resources in Research from the European Commission

Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Human Resources in Research by the European Commission.

Thanks to the certificate, the way will be opened for the qualified human resources within the organization to undertake more effective work.

Having successfully completed the process that began with the declaration of intent made to the European Commission in April 2021 regarding the compliance with the “Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)” as of February 2023 and achieved the success of being one of the three universities in Turkey to receive the Human Resources Excellence Certificate in Research, IZTECH will implement an action plan for the effective management of the research ecosystem thanks to the certificate. IZTECH, one of the research universities determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), aims to maximize its human resource potential with this accreditation given to institutions focused on being “Researcher Friendly Universities”.

What is HRS4R?

HRS4R is a long-term, voluntary commitment that involves joint efforts and coordination with various internal and external stakeholder groups. There is no geographical limit defined for the HRS4R process, and 704 institutions worldwide have received this certification to date. HRS4R defines the 40 principles that will make working conditions for researchers in Europe more effective and efficient. Institutions conduct gap analyses within the scope of these 40 principles determined by the European Commission for researchers in three-year cycles and implement the action plans they prepare as a result. Experts determined by the European Commission monitor, audit and evaluate the implementation of the action plan, both remotely and through field visits. Under these conditions, HRS4R becomes a dynamic process where institutions where researcher human resources are clustered continuously evaluate and improve themselves.
