Supporting and Organizing Events Aimed to Promote Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of the Oceans, Seas, Lakes, Rivers and Marine Resources
Being located at the Küçük Menderes River Basin, IZTECH is actively involved in the monitoring and developing the river basin management plan in collaboration with the local governments and the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ministry.
Historically, The Küçük Menderes River Basin Sustainable Development and Life Strategy Document (2016) was prepared by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in collaboration with academics from IZTECH and other universities in the İzmir region. More recently, IZTECH works in close collaboration with the State Water Works (Agriculture and Forestry Ministry) and the Office of İzmir Governorship in order to monitor the quantity and quality of groundwater resources at Küçük Menderes River Basin.
