A scholarship protocol has been signed between the Izmir Institute of Technology (İYTE) and İzmir-based businessman Akif Eski.
Recently, İYTE has achieved significant success with awards on both national and global stages, and it was ranked as the most satisfying university in Turkey in the 2023 Turkey University Satisfaction Survey. With its ongoing university-industry collaborations, İYTE continues to offer its students opportunities for internships, part-time work, and scholarships.
With the scholarship protocol signed between İYTE and Akif Eski, the “Akif Eski High Achievement Scholarship” will be awarded to students who achieve high rankings in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and choose İYTE as their university.
Following the signing ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran emphasized the importance of motivating successful and talented students and stated the following about the agreement: “At İYTE, with our qualified and strong academic staff, we are training scientists, researchers, and role model leaders who will turn the balance of imports and exports in our favor and produce solutions by anticipating the problems of the future. We are conducting a wide range of work to include the talented young minds of our country in our innovation-based ecosystem and to provide all kinds of support—both financial and moral—to our students. This includes expanding the scholarship opportunities we offer to our students. With this in mind, we have signed an agreement with our esteemed businessman from İzmir, Mr. Akif Eski, who wishes to contribute to education. Under our agreement, we will provide various support packages and the ‘Akif Eski High Achievement Scholarship’ to students who achieve a ranking within the top 1,000 and top 5,000 in the YKS and choose our Institute. I would like to sincerely thank our friend of İYTE, Mr. Akif Eski, for his support in providing these opportunities for our students and young people. We will continue to work for the bright future of our country and our beloved students.”
