Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran and members of the Güzel İnsanlar Group came together at the Izmir Institute of Technology (İYTE). Following the meeting held at the İYTE Senate Hall, it was decided to provide scholarships to 20 students in need at the Institute.
İYTE, which has signed agreements with various non-governmental organizations and industrial companies to ensure students can continue their education in better conditions, provides not only scholarships but also support in areas like mentorship, career counseling, internships, and part-time job opportunities.
As part of the existing cooperation between the two entities, the Güzel İnsanlar Group, which has been supporting İYTE students, reached a new agreement to provide scholarships to an additional 20 students.
Following the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran stated: “Our country needs talented individuals to maintain its competitiveness in the global arena and to continue its progress. Our greatest asset is our qualified human resources. Universities are the places that will train this qualified workforce in the best possible way. We have students with great potential at our Institute. Our students should be fully focused on equipping themselves academically and intellectually. Therefore, we feel responsible for improving their conditions, and we collaborate with different non-governmental organizations and groups to provide scholarships to our students. We met with the members of the Güzel İnsanlar Group, who have given great support to our Institute. I wholeheartedly thank the Güzel İnsanlar Group, who have put in effort to support our young people, who are the guarantors of our future, by combining their own resources, on behalf of our students, our Institute, and our country.”
Meryem Karaca, who initiated the charity movement and continues to lead the Güzel İnsanlar Group, added: “In 1998, we started with two people, then became four, and eventually grew like an avalanche. We are extending a helping hand to our young people for the sake of our country. As women, we are aware of our power, our potential for uplifting society, and our responsibilities. We are proud and happy to support young people in need with our own resources. We thank İYTE and our esteemed Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran for giving us this opportunity to support the individuals of our country who are candidates to change the world.”
