SUSTAINABILITY

The Sustainable Green Campus Coordinatorship at IZTECH (https://surdurulebilir.iyte.edu.tr/en/) supports and oversees all activities related to waste minimization on campus. The Directive (https://surdurulebilir.iyte.edu.tr/wp- content/uploads/sites/159/2020/06/Yönerge.pdf) states that waste minimization is one of its aims.

Actions that aim minimizing use of plastic and disposal items were listed below:

1. IZTECH, being a public university, is currently using the Electronic Document Management System, that has been established by all state offices by the government
2. IZTECH has built several drinking water fountains on campus to provide free drinking water for all, hence reducing the consumption of plastic
3. IZTECH has distributed glass water bottles to students on the orientation day in order to reduce single-use
4. IZTECH also follows the national regulations on minimizing the use of single-use plastic
